Each year the school selects a deserving fifth grade student and the student receives a certificate guaranteeing them $4,000 for tuition and fees at CF for any program. The student must remain drug and crime free and keep satisfactory grades.
Scholarships Taking Elementary Promising Students (S.T.E.P.S.) has been a successful motivator for students, parents and school personnel in giving promising students hope for their future. Each endowed scholarship is a $10,000 donor gift and is eligible for state match bringing the endowment to $20,000. This amount is invested to generate the annual scholarship award each year. The first group of S.T.E.P.S. recipients is expected to attend CF in 2012.
History
In 2005, Mr. Bernie Little proposed an endowed scholarship program to be awarded annually to promising and financially deserving elementary students to strive for a college education. The plan is to provide an endowed scholarship for a boy and a girl for every elementary school in the college's service area. We now have 52 scholarships at 33 of the 49 eligible schools.
