Summary of 2007 Foundation Highlights
Serving the college for the past 48 years
CFCC 50th Anniversary
- Completed fundraising effort with donors to provide the total cost of the Bell Tower, 14 bronze bells, plaza, Dosh sculpture, six
commemorative benches, landscaping, architectural fees and the time capsule.
- Provided total funding for the college’s 50th Anniversary book; provided funds for college archives.
- Sponsored and hosted with CFCC Alumni, a 50th anniversary college historical exhibit.
- Launched a brick campaign with CFCC faculty/staff and alumni to support the CFCC future endowment fund.
- Developed with alumni, and funded the first Alumni Directory for 27,000 CFCC alumni.
- Gave the 50th Anniversary book to each student at December graduation.
Promise for the Future Campaign
- Began the implementation phase for the Foundation board-approved and college trustee-endorsed Promise for the Future
Campaign.
- Launched the public phase of the collegewide Promise for the Future Fund Campaign; one million dollars had been donated and
pledged to the Promise for the Future Fund as of October 2007 during the silent phase of the campaign.
Major Financial Support to College
- Initiated 23 new endowments; 13 became operational.
- Allocated $693,000 in student scholarships serving 1,400 students.
- Allocated $324,000 in endowed chairs support to faculty members and instructional departments.
- Expanded eligibility for ten scholarship programs to GED recipients.
- Increased the Gift of Hope Scholarship by $67,000 by board-approved merger of non-operational scholarships.
- Supported college with $831,000 for a variety of other activities and programs.
- Provided other funds to the college when called upon.
Strategic Management and Planning
- Completed over 90% of the ten goals in the Five-Year Strategic Plan (2003-08).
- Selected the firm of James Moore & Co. for a five-year contract for audit services and received an excellent audit report;
implemented all audit suggestions before end-of-year.
- Implemented a Positive-Pay Program to provide additional protection for check accounting system.
- Provided significant donor based data management support to The Appleton Museum of Art.
- Provided accounting support for “Diana, Princess of Wales – Dresses for a Cause” at The Appleton Museum of Art.
- Helped develop and implement with the Alumni Association, a new alumni development program and plan to assist alumni to
better relate with the college.
- New e-mail contract to communicate with 3,700 alumni in effort to keep alumni aware of college activities.
Planned/Major Gifts
- Published two issues of Traditions Magazine for in-depth focus on donors, alumni and friends; circulation 1,800.
- Held a Legacy Society Gala to recognize 100 donors who have given major gifts of $10,000 and over.
- New members added to the three donor recognition societies: Legacy, Heritage and Cornerstone.
- Contract and planned for next year’s launch of a monthly e-newsletter (Gift Law and Gift Legacy) to 7,200 constituents with e-mail
addresses.
Friend/Fund-raising Activities
- Completed third CFCC Annual Fund; 10+% increase in participation.
- Sponsored the 19th Taste of Ocala – held on campus for the first time (3,000 attended).
- Sponsored the 17th Taste of Citrus – held on campus for the first time (700 attended).
- Sponsored the 18th Performing Arts Series, 10 shows, average attendance per show: 700 in Lecanto, 400 in Ocala.
- Sponsored the ninth Dinner Theater Program – 13 shows including two corporate nights (total attendance 1,200).
- Awarded 22 S.T.E.P.S. scholarships at 16 schools; hosted the third annual S.T.E.P.S. reception at the college.
- Sponsored the 18th annual Gabor Recognition Awards presented to outstanding CFCC employees.
- Awarded three New Initiative Grants to CFCC staff (available categories: collegewide, administrative, professional, career service).
- Sponsored CFCC International Film Series.
- Sponsored $4,000 in scholarships for the CFCC Mr. & Ms. Scholarship competition.
- Partnered with Friends of the Foundation to sponsor a Kingdom of the Sun Friends scholarship fundraising concert.
Real Estate
- College Square - completed two satisfactory due diligence reports; 96% occupancy in spring and fall terms; 65 international
students; 14th year of offering student housing.
- Enterprise Center – 100 percent occupancy; vacancy filled by Marion County Community Services.
